Going Local: Attention Quilters and Family!

Written By: der5er - Jan• 27•08

drsao - shirleyannesheart.com behind the camera!Do you know how hard it is to find a picture of the one who’s usually behind the camera?  That’s the case with the subject for today’s post.  I actually would have written this a week ago, but I’ve been searching for a suitable picture.  I seriously couldn’t find a good one.  So, what you see is what I found.

Of course, anyone who is family will immediately recognize the crazy picture lady.  What you may not know is that she’s also the crazy quilt lady!  Thanks to Grandma Shirley, all the kids have their own quilts, we have our own quilt, and I’m pretty sure that at least one of the cats has her own quilt.

Grandma Shirley has decided to take her quilting online and share it with all of you!  So, please take some time to visit and subscribe to www.shirleyannesheart.com

 Don’t forget Fundraising time!!!

Fund Raising Time! St. Jude Children’s Hospital

Written By: der5er - Jan• 25•08

LeannaSwift Creek Middle School is participating in this year’s St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital’s Math-a-Thon.  St. Jude is one of the premeir centers for research into catastrophic diseases in children.  They are a leader in childhood cancer research.  The Math-a-Thon is a great way for school-age children to get involved in helping to raise money for the hospital to treat children with cancer, HIV, sickle cell, and other childhood diseases.

My oldest daughter, Leanna, is raising money for St. Jude with her very own Math-a-Thon Wired Web Page.  You can help her reach her goal by going to her page and donating through the secure link.

The money you raise will help St. Jude help kids from all over the world who have cancer, AIDS, sickle cell and other catastrophic diseases. At St. Jude, no family ever pays for treatments not covered by insurance, and families without insurance are never asked to pay. Thanks to millions of kids like you, we are also able to pay for transportation for our patients and their families and give them a place to live while they are at St Jude. Since opening in 1962, St. Jude has treated patients from all 50 states and more than 70 foreign countries. Your participation in Math-A-Thon makes you a part of our mission to find cures and save children.

Again, please visit her site and make a donation to this very worthy cause!
