80′s week continues at Autoblog

80′s week continues at Autoblog. I didn’t post about yesterday’s Toyota because, well, I don’t find that very exciting. But the Saab they posted today is gorgeous!

ReviewMe.com Reviewed

This is a paid review for Reviewme.com.ReviewMe.com

Reviewme.com could be the next big income stream for bloggers.

The site is nicely laid out, all the important links are across the top, there’s no animation, and AJAX is only sparingly used.  Sign up was unbelievably easy.  I didn’t like them asking for my SSN, and I didn’t have to enter it right away.  I understand that they need it for tax purposes, but I always feel wary of someone having this number.

Of course, they only have one review for me to write right now, and that’s the review of their own site (which you are currently reading).  So, it remains to be seen how much income can be made here.

One good thing you’ll find if you sign up for the service is that reviews do not have to be positive!  I can sit here and trash whatever product they have me reviewing, and I’ll still get paid!  Of course, I’m not going to trash anything that doesn’t deserve it.  You’ll only get honest reviews here.  In fact, the only restriction on the reviews that I’ve seen so far is the 200 word minimum.  Basically, this will cut down on the number of reviews that say simply "It sucks".

The service also appears very easy to use.  Once you’ve signed up, submitted your blog,  and accepted a review, all you have to do is write it and return to ReviewMe.com to tell them where it is.  Now, this could actually be a little easier:  During the blog submission, they ask for your RSS feed.  If they’ve got that, they should be able to find the review once it’s published.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t intend for der5er to turn into a splog, and I don’t intend to quit my day job.  But if ReviewMe.com can pay for next year’s hosting, then that’s a good thing.

It’s 80s week at Autoblog

The Autoblog Reader Ride of the Day feature is normally really awesome. But this week, it’s 80s week, and I’m in heaven! They’ve even kicked things off just right with this 633CSi!
