A new PR for everyone!!! I quite simply ROCKED this half marathon!! I set a goal to beat the 2 hour mark and I shattered it. My clock time was 1:55 and my iPod was 1:52:35. Why no mention of the official time? Well, there was some sort of problem with my timing chip and my results aren’t on the race website. I’ve e-mailed them, in hopes that this was merely a computer glitch, but I’m not hopeful. I’m still happy about my PR, because official time is normally a couple minutes faster (I started in corral 3) than clock time. My friend Jeff finished with an official time of 2:06:48, a PR for him, and Tri-ing Timberman (another Richmond blogger) tallied up a few PRs in this post on her blog.
I’ll let the pictures tell the story below. You’ll see below pictures of our leisure time on Saturday before the race, and pictures I took during the race. I’ll post the pictures of our trip to the Virginia Aquarium later this week.

Great photos! It definitely tells the story of this race. It’s awesome to see all those images. I’ve done this event three times and it’s great to see the same thing every year. One of these times I am going to grab some beer from that guy!
[...] didn’t carry my camera with me for the 5k. I’ve run on Fort Story before (during the Shamrock Half Marathon), so I didn’t think about bringing it. It was a beautiful day, but the areas of the Fort [...]
