Hey! I had to come over when I saw you you admitted to being a running geek on our giveaway post. I'm totally one too.

Glad to have you in the 10K this year. It's only my third year living in Richmond, but it'll be my 9th consecutive time running the Monument race. It's definitely good time (and let's hope it doesn't rain like last year). I'm still recovering from a knee injury (caused by a half marathon ) that makes it hard for me to go much longer than 8 miles, so I probably won't make the Shamrock 1/2. But all this talk of it sure is tempting!

So... today at work I was googling half marathon blogs...and I stumbled across this post. I'm doing the exact same thing. Shamrock 1/2 followed by the Monument Avenue 10k. Imagine my excitement!

The Shamrock will be my first half... and although I've done a 10k, I've never gotten to participate in the Monument Avenue 10k, although I wanted to the past 2 years. Happy Training!

I didn't run fast enough in any race last year to qualify for one of the seeded waves, though my current pace would put me probably in L, so I'm not that far off in requesting wave MA. Of course, with the Shamrock half just a week before, I'll probably actually run closer to Q at 59 minutes!

Welcome to the Ukrop's Monument Ave 10K -- it is pretty fun. I ran it last year for the first time and am signed up again. I even talked my wife into participating last year and when I finished, I looped back around, found her, and finished the last half of the run with her (a total of about 11 miles for me). She's planning to walk/run again this year and so is our adult daughter. It's a lot of people but with the wave starts, it's not too bad. What wave are you in? I've asked for B but don't know if I'll be placed in B or C.
