Home for the Holidays: Breakfast with Santa

Written By: der5er - Dec• 07•07

Dinner with Santa 2005One of our favorite family traditions is coming up this weekend at the Boathouse restaurant at Sunday Park.  We’ll be going to have Brunch with Santa!

This is a great way for the kids to get to see Santa Claus without having to wait in the huge lines at the mall.  Plus, while they are waiting, they get fed!

Sarah and Santa 2005The kids get to take their time making a list to give Santa, so even the shy ones (or the ones that are afraid of a fat bearded guy in a red suit) can make sure he knows exactly what they want!  They can even draw pictures of their wishes if they don’t know how to spell.

Santa comes out to each table just near the end of the meal.  Most kids like this part, and I do, too.  Of course, there are exceptions.Cooper and Santa 2005

It’s a much more intimate atmosphere than the mall, too.  The kids aren’t nearly as rushed, and there’s always been time for a quick family photo with Santa.

Epps, Johnson, Santa 2005The restaurant is under new ownership, so I don’t know if they’ll have a paid photographer or not, but they haven’t in the past, and I like it that way.  Our pictures are always better than the over-priced ones taken by the elves at the mall!
