Home for the Holidays: Let it Snow!

Written By: der5er - Dec• 06•07

Snow 2005Just like in 2005, December 5 was the first snow in the Richmond area this year.  Also just like in 2005, nothing stuck because the ground is still so warm.  [EDIT: I just read through old e-mail and the snow did accumulate in 2005]  Of course, no one got to leave school, and the streets were almost dry by the time I got home.  It was still fun to look out the windows at work and see the white stuff falling from the sky!

Cooper, December 5 2005Now that we live in Virginia, it just doesn’t seem like the holidays unless it gets really cold and we get at least a hint of snow.  Now, the holidays can begin!

I really love the snow.  Not just because it’s fun to play in.  I like the way everything gets quiet.  Even when the kids are outside playing in the snow, yelling and screaming, it’s very still and quiet despite their noise.  It’s like the snow just dares you to try and disturb the peace.  I also like how everything looks covered in snow.

December 2005 snowOn a side note: If you didn’t take my previous suggestion, go read Dorky Dad.  He just posted a funny article about Christmas shopping with his son.  If you need a laugh, he’s always sure to give you one!
